“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5

As Chris Telfer neared the end of his message, he asked if anyone had any illnesses that they wanted the group to pray for. About ten people stood to their feet and proceeded to the pulpit. Our group laid hands on each and every one of them and the Holy Spirit just dropped. I felt called to pray for the children so I went from child to child blessing them in the name of Jesus Christ.

After praying for a little girl I saw a boy sitting all alone in an isle. He looked to be around 13 years old and hung his head like something was burdening his heart. I knew that the Lord was calling me to sit next to him and lay hands on him. I pulled up a chair and the second I put my hand on his shoulder he burst into tears. I prayed earnestly seeking the Lord to take away whatever was troubling him. I knew in my spirit that something was wrong with his parents and the entire load had been put on this little boy. I cried out to the Lord to come.
This little boy named Miguel continued to cry as one of our Spanish speakers came and sat on his right side. Eric Hanson translated as I asked what was burdening him so much. Sitting right in front of him was his mother and two sisters. Eric proceeded to find out that Miguel had just witnessed his father completely abandon their family. His father had found another woman and decided that she was much more important than the five children and his wife.
Miguel had seen the father figure in his life run away from him as if he were just an object. The hardest part about this was that Miguel was now the man of the house at age 13 and had to care for his three siblings who were still in the house. My heart was ripped in half as I saw each and every tear roll down his precious little face.
I began to pour my heart out to him and tell him how much his true Father in heaven loved him. I asked if he had ever accepted Jesus into his heart and he nodded yes. At that moment Scott came over and joined in on the prayers. We all laid hands on him as Eric showered him with prayer. Tears welled up in my eyes as Scott and I both heard the same thing from the Lord, “hug my son”.
I got down on my knees in front of his chair and embraced him like I would my own son. Eric burst into tears beside me, Miguel embraced me like a father as his heart poured out the pain that had been unjustly brought against him and I cried like I had never cried before. The arms that were around Miguel were not my own, the spirit that covered this boy were not my own, this was Christ embracing this little boy. God was using me at this very moment and I could feel every bit of it. One by one all three of us embraced this little boy as if he were our own.

Miguel is a boy that we are all never going to forget. This moment moved me so much that the Lord told me to give him something that was very dear to me. Around my neck I wear a nail that makes me remember the pain that Jesus went through and that He died because he loved me. Although this necklace meant so much to me, I knew that Miguel was the true owner of it. God loved him so much that he used three men to pour out love that the three of us didn’t know we had.

Father protect Miguel and continue to show him that his true Father will never leave him nor forsake him.
