“A mans heart plans his ways, but the Lord directs his paths.” Proverbs 16:9

As the thunder clouds began to roll in we prepared for an adventure that none of us can say we have ever done. We were about to hike through the rain to a gold mining town with a little over a hundred people.

We shot off for an adventure through Gods creation. In our accent we crossed multiple waterfalls and took in views that breathed life to the soul. We ventured for about an hour when we came upon the mining town that sat under the monstrous white capped mountains.

We entered the town and kids began to flock to us. I felt burdened to be part of the kid’s ministry while the other group toured the town for door to door ministry. Due to some of the experience that I was able to take in last year, I was able to lead in some pretty fun children’s games.

Kids circled as we played game after game. Before we knew it we had a little over twenty kids. We decided to make the most of the opportunity, so we enacted the story of David and Goliath. The kids sat in amazement as parents looked from a distance.

It was such a precious moment because the entire town had smiles on their faces. The parents loved that we were playing with their kids and they were so open to us sharing the love of Christ.
There is something that just hits me deep in the heart when I see little kids running around with such overflowing joy. The Bible tells us that we have to have faith like a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
The more and more I look into a child’s eyes I see what the Lord means by this verse. Children trust in their parents, they look to them and take in everything that they have to teach them. The Lord wants the same from His children. He wants us to trust in His living Word of God and make it manifest in our own lives. He wants us to look at the promises that He gives us and believe in them.
Children are precious beings that have not been corrupted from the world that we live in. They look to those who are able to provide for them with complete trust and openness. That is the trust that the Lord wants for all of His children. He wants us to look to the heavens and see that He made everything that surrounds us and believe that He wants the best for all those who will accept Him.

This experience was touching to my heart because I got to see the generation of children that are coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We were able to praise and worship with the local body of believers and bless them with all of our souls.
I pray that the childlike faith that I saw deep in the eyes of these children would overflow to all of our hearts. I pray that we would run from the life that this world promotes and see that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life.
God Bless.
