So basically I'm sure you've all heard of no-shave November for guys. A lot of guys on our squad are doing it.

God laid it on my heart a couple weeks ago to do a make-up fast. In my profession (cosmetologist) I have become reliant on and expected to wear makeup everyday.

This became part of who I was. I wouldn't really leave the house without and if I did, I felt self-conscious. People would notice when I didn't and say "oh are you sick??!" or "do you not feel good? what's wrong?"

This was because I wore it all the time, but on the inside would make me feel like I looked horrible without it.

I realized I was reliant on it when I started thinking about fasting it and got a nervous pit in my stomach. I thought, "but on the race you break out extra, this is the worst possible timing!"

However, God kept pressing at my heart…..

In 1 Peter 3 it says, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

Now….MANY people misinterpret this to mean that God doesn't want you to look nice and dress up, wear jewelry etc. That's not what He's saying. It means that that's NOT where you are to get your beauty from. And with makeup I found myself doing this. Relying on an aid.

So this is a call to ALL the women I know to give up make-up for November. I will be posting verses about our identity in Christ and encouraging you. I will also be posting (and encourage you to do the same in the comment boxes below or message me) my struggles when I'm feeling "less-than" and just want to give in.

It seems simple and silly kinda, but honestly with the media and other people pushing these ideas, airbrushing photos, etc……it becomes something you feel you can't be enough without. Please join me in this month of freedom!! woot woot! We can celebrate each others beauty in Christ. So jump on the bandwagon for #nomakeupnovember

I already have a lot of the girls on my squad doing it and even some back in the states! please join and see if you can make it. One more thing….if you think you don't have a problem with it….whats the harm in trying it?, and if you feel the pressure once you've started this journey, then you can clearly see how it's effected you and you didn't even realize it.

You are BEAUTIFUL the way you are. ♥ xoxo Believe it.
