Monday nights are set aside for strictly worship as a team.
At training camp our team was told that worship would be our war-cry; that it would be the way we fought our battles. So we chose the team name Towdah as one of the 7 Hebrew words of worship. It means to extend the hand in adoration, acceptance, or acknowledgment. My team leader Corbyn asked me to lead worship on Monday night for the team, so I spent the week asking the Lord what he wanted it to look like. Over the weekend, while I was on WiFi, I got a text saying that the name of Jesus carries presence. As I studied what that meant, the Lord led me to Psalm 95:2-7. It tells us to come before the Lord with thanksgiving and joyful shouts of praise for our God. To bow down before him and praise him because our God made the mountains, the trees, and all the beauty surrounding us.
He then told me to find a field. He spoke to me saying “go be out in my creation surrounded by my beauty and come in joy and thanksgiving with my name on your lips.” I got so excited and set off down the path near our house with Paige to find a spot where we could dance and praise the name of Jesus. After some time the Lord led me to a little fenced-in area that had hard ground. This is so cool because we are surrounded by rice fields, so to find a patch of ground that you don’t sink into is amazing!
On Monday night, my team walked to the little field and wow did we see Jesus. That night the stars where unreal. I had been praying all day that Jesus would paint the sky with his beauty so that we could be in awe of who he is. Oh man, he blew our minds! I shared with my team what the lord had placed on my heart for what WORSHIP would look like. The Lord prompted me to share with them how his name has presence in our lives, so we need to continually have his name on our lips. The Lord also spoke so much beauty into the fact that we get to be literally surrounded by his creation. He made it all to sing his praises by just being what he created it to be. A mountain doesn’t try to be a tree and the rivers don’t try and be flowers. They are so uniquely made to praise the King by serving this world in a special way. That night we all individually worshiped our God. its so cool to learn how we can worship our lord in so many different ways not just by singing songs of how great our God is but also in the way be hold our bodies, in the way we talk and the things we do.
I’m so expectant for how the lord is going to move in my team and to see how he will lead us to worship him in the future.
update I’m still fundraising!!!!! I need to be fully funded by January 15th. every amount means the world! thank you to everyone who has gotten me to this point. I’m so grateful for each of you and excited for how the lord is working in each of your lives.
