My time in Quito Ecuador has been such a blessing! Our first ministry began at the house we are staying in. Our hosts Mabe and Fabi house missionaries all year round, with groups numbering 50 at a time. We are one of the first groups of missionaries that have been sent internationally since covid began. So, we have been doing maintenance around the property. This ranges from organizing, gardening, rebuilding a road, chopping wood, and digging a huge trench. I am so blessed by our hosts. We are sleeping in beds and are fed the most amazing food.
Our second ministry was Camp Hope! This ministry was a daycare for disabled kids in Quito. Because of the pandemic these kids aren’t allowed to come. We have been working to prepare the building for when the kids come back. We’ve been organizing cabinets, mopping, scrubbing from the walls to the floor, sweeping, raking leaves, cleaning toys that have been sitting idle for months, and even separating bags and bags of trash. God gave us the amazing opportunity to work with these people and I’m very thankful.
Our third ministry is called Venezuela in Ecuador. This organization is currently building doctors offices where Venezuelan refugees in Quito can come to get medical help for free. My team and I helped paint the offices, getting them ready to be used. After fleeing their country, many of the refugees end up living on the street and are in need of that help.
My team and I have been working with these ministries throughout each week. I’m so excited to see what else God has in store and to keep working for the Lord!
