I was talking to a friend this week about the love of Jesus. He told me that all he has ever heard about Jesus is that he died for our sins so we wouldn’t go to hell if you believe in him and that he never sinned. Now he doesn’t go to church that often, but I was just in aw that this young man can think about Christ and not have the thought of overwhelming love come into his mind. I make it my mission in life to live and love like Christ and I know no matter how hard I try or who I’m with I will never be able to grasp the perfect unconditional love that I’m so very thankful for. The new testament refers to love 232 times Jesus himself refers to love 51 times in those 4 books we call the gospel and it just blows my mind that people don’t think of overwhelming love first. It’s a love so powerful as it says in 1st Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins”. A love so strong it drives out fear (1st John 4:18). Love is so important and so BIG that in 1st John 4:8 it says “whoever does not love does not know God, Because God is love.” Love is the way I will show people to Jesus before, during, and for the rest of my life.
