Lately, I’ve been getting so many questions about how things are going and how I’m feeling about the Race. So let’s answer a few of them today:
How’s fundraising going?
~Fundraising is going very well. I am officially over 50% funded. I still need about $1,000 to meet my $10,000 goal in July before launch. But I know the Lord is going to provide that.
What gear do you still need and how can I help with that?
~I have most of my gear. I only need a few more items such as a duffle bag for my backpack (we will use this in the airport to keep our backpacks in good condition), and a few storage sacks. Are you going to keep in contact with people back home? How?
~Well, in places with wifi, I will be able to get on my computer and use Facebook, update my blog, FaceTime/Skype with people, and e-mail. There will probably be countries where we have limited, if any, wifi and I won’t be able to update my blog. I am going to try to update my blog as often as I can to keep you in the loop with what God is doing and how you can be praying for my team and I.
Are you getting nervous about the Race?
~I wouldn’t say that I’m nervous. I have the excited jitters about going, but I’m honestly not very nervous about leaving. The past month or two I have felt overwhelmed, but in a good way. I feel completely overwhelmed with peace and confidence in what the Lord is doing, and provision. It has truly been amazing to see God work in so many ways already as my squad and I are preparing to leave. The conversations that my squad and I have been able to have, has been such a blessing to be able to connect and build each other up. One of the coolest things has been how I’ve seen us all be there for one another already, the fact that we can text, call, or skype each other when we feel doubt or discouraged, or if we just need a little advice has been incredible.
What can I be praying for?
~Can you please pray for my whole squad right now, as a whole. As we continue to get closer to the Race, more doubts and questions keep coming up. Pray that we will be confident in what the Lord is doing in this season. Pray for us to really lean on the Lord and be obedient to say “yes” to Him. Please continue to pray for our fundraising and the people we will come into contact with in our preparation. And please pray for the people we will talk to while we are on the Race, for their hearts to be prepared for us to come, and for our hearts to be prepared for when we are there as well.
