So, how to start….well so far this week we have been soaking up the sun here in Puerto Rico. Our full first day was filled with cleaning up the church grounds. We cleaned up a lot of branches and vines from the trees all while trying to avoid those tiny but strong little fire ants (for those of you that know about my training camp experience 🙂 ). The area looks good! Which is the fun part of the physical labor part of missions. You end with a job well done that you can see. These next couple of weeks we will continue to look for and do those types ofprojects for other churches or people from the church or even just other people in the community that God leads us to. There was a youth service on Friday that we were able to be apart of and we led praise and worship in English and Spanish. And even today we were able to lead some coritos (Spanish songs) in church this morning. This trip is off to a great start and God is definitely working in our team and helping us to come together and work together even with our distinct differences.those of you who can, please send my love to my prison church family back in Omaha! The work God had me doing there has been preparing me for this trip.
Another blessing, besides my family that I miss and love, is that my trip has been fully funded at this point! With God anything is possible and there is no number too big for Him! 🙂
