Last month, we had a continent change. We landed in Africa. We spent our first month in Africa (month 7
on the Race) in South Africa. All of
these blogs were written during that month and intended to be posted sometime
during July. But as you can see I am
already in Mozambique, month 8 of the Race, 2nd month in Africa, and
my South Africa blogs are just now being posted. All I can say is T.I.A. — aka This Is Africa.
This month our team along with three other teams had the
unique opportunity to do ministry together.
We are here in beautiful Coffee Bay, South Africa, camping right by the
ocean, serving our God by breaking ground on a new ministry. We are partnered with Mandy, who already has
a surf and soccer ministry up and running in Capetown. God recently called her to where her dad
resides in Coffee Bay to start a similar ministry. So we partnered with her to make for a team
of 35 people breaking ground in the village of Coffee Bay. This month has been dedicated to getting the
word out and beginning a soccer and surf ministry. The kids have really responded and we currently
have about 65 kids attending ministry every day. Our main focus for the month
is to show these kids the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. And to give them a hope for a future bigger
than what they see here. We’re praying
that every child we see come through the ministry will give their hearts and
lives to Jesus. We are praying that God
will send permanent and temporary volunteers to continue running these camps
when we leave at the end of the month as well as when Mandy needs to return to Capetown.
You can read more about the ministry here: www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk
Please be in prayer that leaders will be raised up to come
to Coffee Bay to continue to minister to these precious children.
