This month I have been completely blown away by Indian
hospitality.  People that don’t know us
from Adam bring us into their homes, feed us delicious meals, and spend time
getting to know us.  These people that
take us in usually have a one to two room house where 4 people all sleep on one
“bedâ€ and if they’re lucky they have a separate room for the kitchen.  They usually share a toilet with their
neighbors outside.  They bring us in and
spend time, money, and effort that they probably don’t have to cook us a
meal.  A lot of them even go out of their
way to get a us a special treat of Sprite or ice cream to go along with the
meal.

The other night we went to a house of a church member.  It was their son’s birthday so we sang Happy
Birthday and prayed blessings over him.
They had this adorable little cake for him.  We ate dinner; they spoiled us with chicken,
rice, yogurt, Sprite, and even birthday cake.
They told us about their business and asked for blessings in the
business so it could be enough to support their family.  We prayed for the business and their family
and were getting ready to leave.  Then
the sweet man pulled something out of his pocket.  He told us that he was so blessed and honored
by what we were doing on the World Race that he wanted to give us each a small
gift.  He had taken some money and
wrapped it up in pieces of paper.  I was
completely blown away.  They had already
spent so much money feeding seven people and they still dug digger into the
money God has given them to give to us.
It was a humbling experience to say the least.  These people living with so little gave so
much.  They are living out of complete
humility and dependency on God.  It was
beautiful to see the Kingdom at work within them.  It definitely made me think about the
blessings God has given me, and questioned whether I’m using them faithfully
for the Kingdom or selfishly for my own gain.
It’s not my own anyways, it’s all God’s.
