Hello! My name is Cathy and I am 23 years old. The place I call home is Huntsville, AL. I graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in December 2009. I have been working as a software engineer since I graduated – literally started my job the same day I graduated. My life these days is pretty lame – full of the monotony of working a real grown up job. Obviously I’m not a huge fan of this monotony, to be venturing on this race where every day has the potential to be completely different than the last.
I met Jesus when I was 8 years old. I was playing in my room and I decided that I didn’t want to go to hell and I wanted Jesus in my heart. So I went to a corner and prayed that Jesus would forgive me of my sins and save me. I told my dad who talked with me making sure I understood, then we talked to the pastor who talked and prayed with me again. I really understood. I spent the following years trying to do my best to do the right thing. Fast forward to sophomore year in college. I attended the Passion conference with my church college ministry. During that conference, the Holy Spirit revealed to me what being a Christian really was – a real relationship with Jesus not just trying to please Him. That’s when I began falling in love with Him not just loving Him. Now, my greatest desire is to truly love Jesus more than anything or anyone else. And to seek His will in everything I do. I want to let the Spirit lead my life completely now – every single day. I want people to look at me and see God not me. I’m so excited for this opportunity for the Lord to keep molding me into who He wants me to be, and I’m so blessed that He’s called me to reach the nations for HIm.
I have the most amazing family in the whole earth. I could not have asked for better. They are supportive and loving. They love Jesus and raised me in an environment where the Lord always comes first. I have the greatest parents and an older sister and younger brother. Yes – that leaves me the middle child (middle child syndrome). I have my puppy BooBoo; he’s a toy poodle I got when I was 15. My sister has a dog named Sophie, who’s a Lhasa Apsa. Sophie and BooBoo are married and currently both live with my parents. And my brother has a bird named Tilly – who doesn’t really like anyone but him. She likes to bite people and make them bleed. My most favorite family bonding time is Rock Band. We all gather in the den and play Rock Band for hours on end – way past bedtimes. They joke that I won’t be allowed back in the band when I get back because I will have lost all my skills. They just don’t understand that skills like I have don’t just disappear – they’re pure natural talent.
I have wonderfully fantastic friends!! I have a loving, wonderful church family that is extremely supportive. I also have the privilege of co-teaching a 4th and 5th Sunday School class at my church. It is the highlight of my week – the kids are so amazing. The Lord has truly blessed me, and I’m going to miss them all so much!
Some other random things that make me extremely happy: Jesus, BooBoo, friends, family, God, Little Rosie’s (delicious Mexican food), brownie batter (don’t really like brownies though), my bed (most comfortable bed ever), being outside, working out, dogs (too bad I’m allergic), the color blue, laughing, making other people laugh, I Love Lucy (yes the old school show), traveling (especially road trips), thunder storms, serving others, Disney World, elephants, Fall (crunchy leaves), sunshine, kids
