Two months ago in Malaysia we were given the task to
prophesy over ministry for Nepal.  So my
team sat down and took some time alone praying and prophesying over what God
had in store for us in Nepal.  We got
back together and shared what we felt God was telling each of us.  Let me tell you we came up with a completely
random list of stuff including children, a playground, women, a field and plow,
outside the city wall, Germany, beauty and freedom, and dragon statues.  Yes very random stuff.  We had no idea what any of it meant obviously
so we just sent in what we got to the squad leaders and went on with the rest
of our time in Malaysia and India not thinking much about it.

Well when we first arrived in Nepal we had 2 teams going
with one contact.  He had two ministry
opportunities but we had to make the decision what team would do what.  One would stay at Asha Nepal House right
outside Kathmandu and one would travel to a village about 5 hours away.  Both teams got together and talked about what
we thought God wanted us to do.  Andrew
pulled out our list of prophecies that we had made for Nepal back in
April.  He started reading through the
list and pretty soon the answer of where we needed to go was obvious.   Almost every single prophecy on the list was
fulfilled at Asha Nepal House.  There are
children, women, a playground, they grown their own crops in fields with plows,
its right outside the major city wall, we even saw some dragon statues.  It totally blew us away at how precise these
prophesies were 2 months ago.  There is
even a resort down the road where we go to get internet and most of the people
that stay there are German and they even have a Germany clock hanging in the
lobby.  Talk about random, but even our
Germany prophecy for Nepal has been fulfilled.
God totally wanted us here for this season, and I’m so glad we could look
at this list of prophecies and confirm what many of us were already feeling
about staying here.  So it was decided
and our team stayed here at Asha Nepal House while the other team ventured to a
village about 5 hours away.

Asha Nepal House is a home for women and children rescued
from the commercial sex trade.  They are
a partner house to Bombay Teen Challenge in Mumbai, India.  So most of the women and children that stay
here are Nepalis that were sold into the sex trade and ended up in Mumbai.  This house is a place where women can learn
trades to support themselves with, where they can learn about the ultimate true
love found in Christ, where they can raise their children in a safe
environment, where they can be accepted and loved despite their pasts, where
they can find true FREEDOM and BEAUTY.
The kind of freedom and beauty that’s only found in Christ.  It was funny when we were prophesying I was
the one that got those two words – freedom and beauty.  They sounded so cliché to me.  I wasn’t sure if they were just words I was
thinking that sounded good or if they were really from God.  After coming here I now realize they were
straight from God.  Those two words are
very important to the women here, the children here, and the ministry as a
whole.  It’s what brings life back to
these people that have been through hell – trapped with basically no hope of
escape.

So while we’re at Asha Nepal this month, our main job is to
build relationships with the women and children that are here.  We are to show them this true freedom and
beauty that we have in Christ that we can share with them.  We do lots of different things like helping
get the kids ready for school, to making jewelry or candles with the women, to
teaching English to the women, to playing with the kids after school, to
helping the kids with their homework, to leading devotionals for everyone at
night.  It’s a busy schedule, but it’s
all worth it to shower this love, freedom, and beauty we have in Christ on
them.
