Finally.  After traveling and resting and squad and team bonding, we have finally started our ministry.  Today we had training and began what I know is going to be an incredible month.

My team (Blue Sky) and another team LitToBlaze are ministering together here in Phuket at SHE ministries.  SHE ministries is an amazing ministry dedicated to helping woman get out of lives of prostitution by teaching them trades so they can support themselves without having to sell themselves.  You can read more about SHE at http://www.shethailand.org/.  They are an amazing ministry that could definitely use your prayer and financial support if you feel led to give.

Basically what our ministry will be doing this month is during the day helping out SHE with whatever they may need.  That could be anything from cleaning to teaching English to Thai women to helping the staff.  At night though, we’ll be going to Patong where the Red Light district is.  Here we will be ministering to prostitutes.  Prostitutes that solely work there because that’s how they provide for their family.  Prostitutes that don’t understand what true beauty in Christ is.  Prostitutes who have no hope in humanity.  Prostitutes who cry themselves to sleep every night because they feel so dirty.  Prostitutes who need to know and experience TRUE love that has nothing to do with sex.

Tonight was our first night in Patong.  We split up into groups and went into bars, ordered a coke, and started talking to the women there.  Some women wanted to talk and hang out with you.  Some women just wanted to serve you your drink and then leave you alone because you weren’t a customer.  The spiritual climate was very dark.  Satan has a hold of Patong right now, but God is coming in and taking over.  We can see it happening.  We can feel it happening.

One of the streets off the main strip has always been the most spiritually dead place there.  In the 5 years of SHE’s existence, not one woman has left that street to go to SHE and get a better life.  Tonight that street was completely closed off.  Destroyed.  Ceiling crumbling.  Trash everywhere.  Apparently that street had just been open for business days before.  No one really knows why it closed especially since it’s the height of tourist season and it is the most profitable area in Patong.  God is there.  God is closing not just bars but whole streets of bars.

God is here.  I can feel Him.  He’s moving.  He’s changing the atmosphere here.  He has divinely appointed us to be here right now so He can change lives through us.  We are right in the center of His will, doing exactly what we are supposed to do.

P.S. – Pictures coming soon!
