Tonight, I began a 45 day study challenge thanks to my lovely teammate, Kendall!

Due to the amazing day here in Georgia, I decided to change the scenery  a bit for this study. I want to start surrounding myself with nature and all of God’s goodness. And that is exactly what I found…

GOD’S GOODNESS.

I decided to go to the dock and sit in the presence of the Lord.

Day one’s scripture was Luke 1 and John 1:1-14. After the study, one verse continued to catch my eye.

“He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.”

John 1:11

This shook me. How awful is it to think that He came to his children and the WHOLE WORLD He created, and have them not believe Him. The Lord sent His only son down to die for OUR sins. Our own flesh filled decisions.

That’s insane.

I began to look out. Everywhere I turned my eyes to, there He was. Lord. He’s literally in everything. I couldn’t help myself to just get lost in all His beauty that is right in our own back yards.

As I was sitting on the dock I thought about something I never had before.

Some people may have, but I for one have never seen a fish jump out of the water. As I was just looking out, I continuously heard these fish pop out of the water. You know the ones you hear jump, you look, and all you get is a glimpse of all the ripples it made? Well that was me. All I could see is were the fish had jumped and “made it’s mark”.

I couldn’t help but compare this fish to the lord.

Have any of us actually seen God? I mean, we’ve all seen pictures of what we believe God looks like, but let’s be honest, we’ve never seen him. BUT, what we have seen is the effects He’s had on us, family, and the whole world. We can see Him move very clearly. Just like the ripples in the water.

Yup, that’s God.

Amazing right? Because if you know what I’m talking about, you know that these ripples grow bigger and bigger before it blends in with the water again. Sometimes you will see two right next to one another and they overlap.

God works like this. He moves so much in someones life and with just that, you can touch others. By that one ripple you can grow greater and greater in your faith and have the ability to positively impact others by your “ripples”.

With this being said, how can we not receive him when we live in His beautiful creation day in and day out?

I challenge you to do this at least once a week. Go. Sit in the yard. Go to the lake. Just get away from all the earthly things that may cause stress on your life and just sit in His presence and just pray. Trust me, you will be in awe on what God can do for you.

           Love & blessings,
