18 things I’ve learned on the race for 2018

1. Battles and hardships are not to punish you. They are set in your path to strengthen you and prepare you for another season.

2. How to survive a hurricane in a tropical forest in the Dominican.

3. How seek the Lord and pray for patience in conflict.

4. The Lord sees us at our worst, but he is still the one who loves us he most.

5. The Lord is our biggest supporter.

6. How to live in a community of 12+ girls without killing each other. Surprisingly, we figured it out real quick hahaha.

7. If a hippo charges at you, run in zigzags.

8. Love is sacrificial.

9. If you have blonde hair, you can kiss that goodbye in Botswana because the water will turn your hair brown/red.

10. How much the Lord delights in me and calls me higher every single day because he has too much for me in the future to just stay “comfortable”.

11. You can’t constantly pour out to others and expect to wake up every morning full. We are called to pour out and sever others, but we have to spend time to grow in our faith as well or these things aren’t possible.

12. How to get and successful ride a “tap tap” in Haiti.

13. My worth is found in Christ, not in any earthy figures.

14. I admire Abraham. I pray for my faith to grow to be as strong as his in the Lord. So powerful.

15. Don’t look at the past. Look at the future.

16. It’s our job as the next generation in Christ to rise up and set an example for our peers that are lost.

17. A stomach bug spreads really fast in a tiny pink house of 18 ladies.

18. Walk by faith, not by sight. And genuinely live this out. This is not just a saying, but it’s a lifestyle that Jesus modeled for us.
