ALL ABOUT MINISTRY
here are the various things that i’m doing here in Costa Rica, and what the Lord is doing through each section
Waves of Grace:
Teaching and empowering women to make bracelets that they can sell! We take a class on how to make a bracelet and get to know the women in the class with us. We help set up by cutting string or getting supplies together or taking care of the Ladies’ children while they take the class. On Wednesday mornings we lead the women through a devotional.
The Refuge:
A pregnancy center that gives women resources and counseling! This normally looks like watching the women’s children while they are in a session or organizing baby clothes that the women get to buy for their kids
Parenting & pancakes:
This is a weekly gathering for the women who come to the refuge! We make pancakes for them and take care of their kids while they take a parenting class and spend time in community. It’s a great and fun opportunity for us to serve the moms and give them a chance to relax and connect with each other.
House of Raw:
This is dance studio downstairs in the basement of The Hope Project. We take dance classes and get to know the people dancing with us. Ive experienced so much freedom through this and the Lord has Restored a lot through dancing here. This will for sure be the hardest thing to leave…
Evangelism:
Our team goes with a translator to a local park and pray for anyone the Lord highlights to us. At first I was really skeptical about this because it’s very far out of my comfort zone, but I’ve actually come to love it and my favorite stories from ministry have come from evangelism.
Business Club:
On Monday nights we go business club where our friend Charlie teaches locals skills to start their own businesses and empower us to achieve our dreams in a kingdom mindset.
English Club:
This is one of my favorite parts of ministry! We have a Spanish speaking discussion partner and play games or do worksheets together to help them learn english.
Outreach Partnerships:
on Saturday mornings we partner with different ministries in San Jose. We’ve been to an orphanage where we played with the kids and cleaned the orphanage for the women who work there. One weekend we lead a women’s retreat at a local church called Beauty For Ashes which is something we actually went through in Georgia and decided to bring it to the women here.
