The next stage of our journey is listed below. This is an example of how we plan and dream what our time will look like as we travel. So while its not a normal blog post with lots of stories and pictures, it give you a glimpse of our overall plan, our budget requirements and how we all stay on the same page as a team.
What does our time in Peru look like? It’s split up into 3 parts.
Part one: 9/7-9/18: Freedom to dream and propose an idea for this 11-day span.
Part two: 9/18-9/27 All Squad Leadership Training & Activation Week with mentor in Lima, Peru.
Part three: 9/28-10/15 Freedom to dream and propose an idea for this 17-day period. Arrive in Medellin, Colombia by 4:00 PM to meet host for all squad ministry month.
Below is our (Chairontai Panta’s) proposal for Part one. We are praying and working on Part 3 now, and hoping to spend time in the Amazon with a local pastor who lives near Iquitos, Peru. More to come on Part 3, for now, here’s how we ended up at Machu Picchu.
Proposal
Squad: L Squad
Team Name: Chairontai Panta
Dates: September 7-18
Our process: (how we formed this proposal): Completed basic research on Peru. Prayed and dreamed individually. Prayed, dreamed, and vision cast as a team. Choose vision for month and words we want to embody.
Vision: know, own, and bring the Kingdom message.
We want to be characterized by these words: Love. Spirit Led. Unity. Abundance. Rejoice. Ownership.
We desire:
Love: unconditional, eyes to see, sacrificial, serving, and full acceptance (1 Timothy 1:5)
Spirit Led: to be unscheduled, bold, trusting the spirit/teammates, inviting the spirit in & listening, being intentional with our time, and have increased awareness of what the Lord may have for us in the moment, also a genuine pursuit of the spirit in our actions, thoughts and words
Unity: Celebrating one another’s gifts and how they contribute to the team & the Kingdom (Ephesians 4:16). Fighting for one another in making time for feedback and team time. Creating and nurturing a safe environment for emotional, spiritual, and physical development.
Abundance: We want to live out of the Lord’s abundance: giving more, wanting more, loving more, having more, receiving more.
Ownership: To take ownership of our actions, responsibilities, attitudes, time, and safety
Rejoice: Rejoice always in weakness and uncertainty knowing that we are on the victor’s side. (1 Thessalonians 5:16) (2 Corinthians 12:8-10).
The geographical highlight is to arrive at Macchu Picchu, with leftover money in the budget due to living out of abundance from the Lord. We desire to practice an interruptible Spirit led life. We are asking God to reveal more of himself to us and to give us eyes to see people the way he does. We want to be bold for Jesus in loving people in our path (praying, sharing meals, sharing Jesus). While our route is San Pedro de Atacama, Arica, Tacna, Arequipa, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lima, we want to rule our schedule in that we live in the power to change it, and follow where the Spirit is leading. We desire to connect with locals and for seeds to be planted and watered. Our team name means “rejoice always” and we truly want to embody that regardless of our circumstances.
