Towards the end of Expedition (my first 11-month race experience) I knew I wasn’t done with life on the Race. I’m deeply honored to have the opportunity be a part of this squad, let alone lead team Chaírontai Pánta which translates to “Rejoice Always.”

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16

I met this fun-loving group of people at our launch conference in the beginning of August. They immediately welcomed me into their team and continue to accept me as their own. I am incredibly thankful for each and everyone of them. It’s only been a bit over a week, but the part everyone plays in helping us to function healthily is evident.

“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”
-Ephesians 4:16

My role is to help form healthy rhythms, to build an emotionally and spiritually safe environment, and to be an overall resource to the team.

This past week we reviewed the vision and values that our squad leaders formed for the squad and then utilized a tool called the Thrive Triangle to provide direction and build awareness for the remainder of our time in Chile.

Vision

Knowing, Owning, Bringing the Kingdom Message

Values

Communication:  Communicate effectively. Listen well.

Freedom: Free to be self. Be royal identities and co-airs in Christ. (See Romans 12:12 for more)

Ownership: Take initiative and create our experience. Be the first to love, forgive, show up. Regardless of our roles, we are 100% responsible for ourselves and what we choose to bring to the team.

Growth: Embrace the uncomfortable. Be content, but don’t be satisfied with where I am, want more.

Creativity: We are creators. Be open to what God is teaching and to new things you are learning about Him. Don’t put Him in a box. Get creative with Him.

Chile 3 Week Goals

Written as (I) because we all committed to each goal, and all the I’s being successful creates a WE (count each of the lines, there are 7 of us plus God // |=-)

  1. I will bring 1 piece of feedback to each session of which we will have 4 sessions per week.

(Big Picture: Be people who are able to speak truth in love)

  1. I will come to breakfast ready to share SELF (celebrations, struggles) and listen to others 5x a week.

(Big Picture: Be known and know others)

  1. I will be bold 1x a week and share the story of my boldness with one person, AND I will ask 1 person 1x a week about their steps in boldness.

(Big Picture- creating Boldness as a norm)

  1. I will participate in HARDCORE FUN with team 1x a week.

(Big Picture: Culture maker: bond, decompress, rest, LAUGH, enjoy one another)

Vital Few

We will review thrive triangle weekly and adjust as needed.

Pay the Rent

I commit to (continuing) to serve one another and using my VOICE to ask for help with daily chores (clean, cook, etc) or whatever else it is that I may need.
