Travel Day 3-5 of 10

Our train arrived to Baku early in the morning. It was a beautiful day, so many of us walked the mile to our hostel. While waiting to find out the departure schedule of the cargo ship, we showered, napped, and explored. Due to inclement weather, and port scheduling our departure was delayed for a day, so we made the best of it!

Here’s a glimpse of Baku!

Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan. The country re-gained its independence from the USSR in 1991 and has worked incredibly hard to modernize the city. It’s roughly the size of the state of Maine, and located in the South Caucasus region of Euroasia. Neighboring countries are Georgia, Russia, Iran, Armenia, and Turkey (11 km).
