A Glimpse of Life in the Amazon
Boat life: Hammocks is where we spent most of our time. When we ventured out, we were careful not to step into a bucket of fish or a water filled floorboard gap. We cautiously climbs the stairs, as we didn’t want to disturb the chickens and roosters underneath. While passing through, some of us found ourselves holding parrots and visiting with friendly locals.
We ate garlic by the clove to deter mosquitoes and bed bugs. The validity of supportive research is unclear, but at the very least it was entertaining.
We swam, danced, carried water, spotted tarantulas, and passed time in the community.
We talked and prayed together.
