Even though finals week was crazy and stressful in every way, these were the things that made it so much better. 🙂

1. Team dinner and secret Santa! My skating team had our annual team dinner at our coach’s house Sunday night. There was waaayyyyyy too much good food, and my stomach had many regrets. But it was such an awesome time to get together with my team one last time before break. And I love doing secret Santa each year- we even write a poem about the person we’re giving our gift to (which is always really funny).

2. Two worship nights! On Sunday night some of the BASIC fam decided to get together and have a worship night, and it was absolutely beautiful! Everyone had the freedom to just sing whatever was on their hearts, and we spent time praying for each other too. Then on Monday night, a couple of my favorite Youtubers had a worship livestream, and that helped to give me peace as I was studying for finals the next day.

3. Playing Mario Kart with my housemates! What a fun time this was lol. We got a little too competitive, and I had to face the reality that I don’t have the same mad skills as 12-year-old me. The game kept picking courses where you can fall off the edge, but I still managed to finish decently well in the last few races. Guess I’ll have to brush up on my skills over break!

4. My literal walk with God! This was a strange thing, but I don’t even care. I bundled up in many layers, walked outside my house, and started walking the perimeter around campus while talking to God. When I got to the lake I ignored common sense and went down to sit by it (whoops!) and listened to what God was saying back to me (which had me shook per usual). Then for most of the way back around I was singing a song I had just made up. Probably got weird looks, but oh well.

5. The free coffee in the library! This was a beautiful thing. I was hard at work on assignments all day long, and one of my friends posted in the groupme that there was free coffee. So naturally, I practically ran to the library to grab some. It made me a lot more productive while I did my work. But it came back to bite me when I actually tried to fall asleep later that night because I was wide awake… worth it though.

6. Our prayer sesh Wednesday night! All I can say is that the devil has been coming at people left and right this week, so we decided to unite in prayer to fight back. And it was sooooooo good!!! I don’t even think we prayed for finals at all, because we were focused on situations that are so much more important. I so appreciate the beautiful community we have on our campus.

I am so thankful that I was able to spend finals week with so many people I love, and I’m excited to say that I survived the semester!
