This week, I am doing something special and dedicating a blog to my mom! It may have taken me moving around the world, but I am reminded almost daily that my mom is one of my favorite people on this earth.

Dear Mom(my),

First of all, thank you for dedicating 18 years of your life to forming me into the person that I am today. Thank you for every single sacrifice that you have made, so that I could (and continue) living the blessed life that I do. Thank you for every moment that a kid spit or peed on you, so I could have the college savings account, a car to drive, or a new back to school outfit. I would like you to know that you have a great taste in baby daddies! Well, there is just one haha. I could not imagine my life with any other parents. I have said this before, but y’all have raised me with the discipline necessary for me to be a successful human, but also provided me with the appropriate amount of freedom. You have balanced giving me the independence that I desired, and still care for me when I need it most. Sometimes you get me more than I even get myself. You are so funny, and I like to think that is where I get it from! From a young age, you have been, and continue to be, the woman and mother that I strived to be when I grow up. You have shown me love, grace, humor, and honesty like nobody else. I appreciate your wisdom and no-drama attitude. Mom, you have taught me how to work hard, be respectful, and use some common sense. I am still alive today, so it seems as if you have done a successful job. Even more than the practical stuff, you are FUN! You gave me the opportunities to get involved in activities, and have friends over to the house. I enjoy the times we have had together going to FSU games, touring colleges, and just day-to-day life. I know that it is hard at home without your fashion consultant, but it can be pretty hard here in India without my mommy. No matter what, know that I love you.

Love, Your Favorite Daughter, Catherine
