God continues to amaze me.  As more and more people learn that Noah and I are taking this 11-month missions trip next year, we have been so encouraged.  Whether the folks are fervent Christians or have never stepped foot inside a church, they can’t help but be fascinated and excited about our plans to follow and serve the Lord in this way.  I can’t tell you just how encouraging that is. Just today, I had a conversation with someone that told me he felt called to be a missionary.  This man is so on fire for the Lord, and I may never have known had he not heard of the upcoming missions trip and asked me about it.

My teammates for the January ’09 Race amaze me as well. I posted a need for prayer regarding a house that I need to sell before the start of the Race and I have received so much love, prayer, and support.  I am overwhelmed by the fact that people, whom I’ve never met, have shown so much concern for this situation. As an update, there’s a chance that my parents may be able to buy my house. I ask that you continue to pray that the Lord’s will be accomplished whatever it may be. More than ever, the passage James 1:2-4 comes to my mind…  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  So, I ask also that you pray that we develop that highly-sought-after perseverance as we face this test. Thank you so much!!
