Surprise! 10 Countries in 11 Months!
Peru: ROUND TWO.

As you can imagine I was quite surprised when I was told we were staying in Peru for another month — oh and surprise! — I also became team leader. (See surprised face above).

Welcome to Chincha, Peru!

Our neighborhood gang. Embraced us since day one.

We lived in a church. My house is back by the pulpit. I learned that tents are a beautiful getaway.

Our kitchen. Observe the island by the chair. Observe the fridge — I spy that it's not plugged in. Tricky, but good for holding spoiled milk that only sometimes makes your cereal sour.

Chincha was full of unique prayer. Experience God in new ways everytime you pray: pick a position you've never prayed in before. Wacky leaders lead wacky teams.

My neighbor. How can you not love your neighbor when they have a face like that!

Pastor Nester. He is the most humble man I've ever met and I can't even speak his language. He works hard for his community, his family, and for the Lord. Watching his life will teach you a lot about intimacy with the Lord.

Sunday morning children's ministry. Bible stories. Songs. Snacks. Coloring. Games.
Everything fun. Kids are crazy. It's good to be wacky.

Awesome neighbor. She just started going to our church. We got the opportunity to spend many of our days with her during the week, helping her paint her house. She is a passionate women who desires her husband to know the Lord. She is a woman who appreciates all that you do and pours her love out on you every opportunity she gets.

Construction. The woman who lives in this house is amazing. She is a wonderful woman, a wonderful mother. We found out right before we left that she has AIDs and her husband left her because of that. I was shocked. She loves others so well, especially her kids. She is full of smiles and joy. She goes door to door inviting her neighbors to church and I got to be a part of that with her this month. She is a woman who knows Who holds her future. No earthly circumstance could hinder her.

Pastor Nester and his precious family. Last church service.
Goodbyes are hard, but it was good to know you Peru.

For if we are besides ourselves,  it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ controls us because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and
was raised. 2 Corinthians 5:13-15
