Here's to my ma..

Know that you are among the greatest.

You could've said no to being a mother, but you said yes. To that, I say thank you.

You were young, and could've done your own thing, but you choose to work hard, so that we might survive. I learned hard work ethic from you. To that, I say thank you.

You had nothing, yet you gave me everything. You made every effort to make sure my childhood was everything I could possibly want. I learned how to be selfless from you. To that, I say that you.

You had weakness. I learned from the chaos of life. You have regrets, but I believe it was necessary for things to get hard. You learn how to love others deeply in the midst of a storm. Love is refined when you walk through fire with someone. I learned the most during these times. I learned to have hope and look past the storm. I learned to believe in all people no matter where they are at. I have to say thank you for being weak, for being human.

You are a woman of strength. Your strengths out weigh any weakness you could ever have.

What I love about you is that you are generous. You will give someone in need every last penny in your bank account, literally. I love that you don't even think twice about giving. When I encounter moments when I can buy a homeless person a meal, I am challenged by the person that you are. Your character challenges me to give more of myself, because that's what you would do, that's what Jesus would do also. You look so much like Him in this way, you always have.

I love that you are teachable. You don't pretend to know it all, you are humble, always willing to learn new things, to learn from God.

I love that you are steadfast. You work hard to become the woman that God has created you to be. You never gave up in the process.

I love that you are a woman of love. You are passionate and I never doubt that you love me. You love others well. You are for people making it, just like Jesus is. You believe that if God can change you, He can change anyone. You are remarkable the way you spur people on towards God and out of dark places.

I love that you laugh loud. I get this from you. I actually got yelled at in Romania for laughing and talking too loud. I thought of you and how that's the story of your life, laughing too loud.

I love many things about you. I could go on and on and on. I love what Jesus has done with your life. I have never loved you more. I love our story; that we have a story of hope and reconciliation. I am missing you a lot these day. You mean so much me. The world could never understand how thankful I am for you.

Happy Mother's Day BeeBee!

All my love,

Catherine Ann
