Macedonia this land with the most beautiful and highest Mountains peaks, with delicious food and the place where Paul was led to come in one of his travels, also happens to be the place where so many are lost. It was not part of our original plan to come to Macedonia, but here we are in this small city that turns out to be one of the cities in Macedonia with no local christians. At first this kinda of blew my mind. Coming from a place where mostly everyone I know is a christian, to this place where no one is a believer is really different. It breaks my heart to see that no one understands what it is they are missing. This city is mainly made up of Albanian muslims in which, Christianity is not a popular thing. Not only is it looked down upon to be a believer it is also illegal to covert people to Christianity in this city. There is no church here and the few missionary’s who are here have to stay very discreet with how they witness.
It has been very interesting to learn about the muslim culture and how people live. They have many cultural traditions and are very family oriented. Everything they believe comes from their family traditions and that just continues down generations. They do not know the whole fullness or want to know all that God has too offer and all He can bring, christianity is not something people want to look into. They just do as their family has always done.
Even though we have only been here a week it has already shown me a lot and taught me a lot. This week has been full of prayer and reliance on Him for strength and wisdom. There is not much that we can do for these people but to love them and if asked share with them what we believe.
Personally I have been learning a lot on how to have total faith in Him and be willing to be used in anyway.
In the midst of much hurt and poverty, there is so much need for the Lord here in this city. Its a hurting city and one that is in desperate need for God.
