purposes of protection
Ralph* is short, muscular, and covered in tattoos.
Last Sunday, when we saw him at church for the first time
holding the most adorable baby girl to grace our pupils since Michelle Tanner
toddled across our TV screens in the late 80s, two things came to mind.
1. Ninja assassin.
2. Uncle Jesse
Turns out the assassin thought wasn’t so far-fetched, as we
found out at cell group Thursday night.
Before he became a Christian, Ralph* was a hit man for the
Thai mafia.
He did some hard time, and at some point after that found
his way into Pastor’s church-
Where God got a hold of him.
Once that happened, Ralph* didn’t want to go back to the life
he was leading before jail.
The mafia had plans for him to go back to exactly that,
though.
Back to his old life.
When he said no, they sent people after him.
Because of that, Ralph* had to go into hiding. Talk about a
role reversal!
While Ralph* hid, God kept him safe.
When someone came after him, something happened to the other
person.
After a month, everyone who was after Ralph was gone.
This was four years ago.
Now Ralph* is married, and the baby girl of Michelle
Tanner-level cuteness is his baby girl.
He’s a faithful follower of Christ, who knows heaps about
the depths of the love of God, and how great of a protector the Lord really is.
And now I can legitimately say that I met a mafia hit man
and lived to tell the tale.
Specifically, his tale.
