One of the things that I love so much about AIM (the organization I am with here in New Zealand) is their commitment to sending disaster-relief teams in times of crisis. Hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes… they’ve done it. World Race destinations have and continue to include areas struck by disasters (Peru in January 2008, and Haiti this coming August for the July 2010 squads, for example).

I mention this because there are two groups of people I know will be leaving in the next few weeks in response to the recent earthquake in Haiti. One is being organized by WR Alumni Ashley Musick, and then my friend Grant McGuire (who was on N squad, but stepped back to one of the June 2010 squads) is leaving in a few weeks as well… although not with AIM specifically.

You can find out more information about the WR Alumni trip (including how you can support the team as they head into Haiti) here.
And information about Grant’s trip here.

If you can support either one financially, that would be amazing! If not, then at least hold them up in prayer as they take on all the challenges that come with a disaster like this.
