Greetings from Hobbiton!
No, seriously-I’m writing this blog from the YWAM base in
the Crystal Springs, Matamata area of New Zealand (where they filmed the scenes
for the movie just a few miles away). After about thirty-six hours of travel,
we safely arrived at about eight-thirty this morning (the 5th) here.
I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful it is here…
Arrival here has brought some changes – including some team
shifting. Poeima went down to four people at the end of last week, and the
decision was made to dissolve the team and disperse members to other teams on
the squad. Lauren and I have moved over to Komboa, and Emily and Amanda to
other teams. Keep Poiema (as well as Komboa and the other teams that are
changing) in your prayers – that we’ll be able to healthily grieve the loss of
our teams as we knew them and start forging a bond with our new teammates as we
begin ministry, and that our teams will be able to work as a unit of the body
of Christ from the start.
I don’t know what internet is going to look like this next
month – you may not hear much from me because internet here costs by the memory
used rather than time. Hopefully, I’ll at least have a chance to jump on and
let you know where this month will take us for ministry. I love you guys so
much! Thank you for helping me to get to this point. I can’t wait to share with
you all what God is doing here on the other side of the Pacific Ocean!
Oh – lastly. Last I checked, I was still at just $6,447
raised in pledges and one-time gifts out of the $13,800 necessary to complete
the journey. If you can help with that in any way, please click on the link on
the left of the screen that says “Support Me”.
Thanks!
Cat
