Nothing can dim the light that shines from within. ~Maya Angelou
This is the year I say goodbye to my 20’s and welcome a new stage in life! The Lord has brought me through and shown me so many amazing things in the last five years, all in preparation for this time. I have the amazing privilege to celebrate this year with my awesome new team, Team Rocket Power, and make memories that’ll be imprinted in my mind and heart forever.
The journey the Lord has taken me through so far has been all the feels. The storms He has opened doors to were so good for me, they happened during seasons of my life where my heart was ready for the most growth. This growth followed so much healing that had to happen first. My spiritual as well as my physical eyes were opened real wide to things going on around me as well as within my own life and spiritual walk with Jesus. Traveling within the states with my family as I was growing up, it was in preparation for what I know the Lord instilled into me as an adult. My heart and passion for missions became deeper and deeper, all along I waited patiently for His timing. He opened doors for my experience in India before the World Race, giving me a taste of what true ministry, fellowship, and family among believers looks like as well as coming alongside other believers in Christ who may speak a different language but worship our Lord just the same. Leading up to the World Race, I struggled many times with my age, always feeling I was too old to start something new such as school (that was a big one). Since being on the World Race, the Lord has given me insight and I have given myself grace in knowing that seasons happen when they do and we are capable of starting new chapters and dreams in our lives regardless of age! That was such a relief and refreshing to not only hear but to truly believe it for myself!
At our last debrief on the beach in El Salvador, the end of month eight, the Lord has been showing me a lot lately the warrior I am in Him. In closing this blog, here are my thoughts, some of the words from a very encouraging song, and some scripture I’d love to share with you…..
** As a warrior of the Lord, in battle for God’s truth and standing for what’s right, it is better and more effective to work in wisdom than just physical strength. The Lord gives us wisdom and He gives us discernment – to go where He has called us to go, and do what He has called us to do. **
Look beyond the window there
To the sky above to the open air
Look beyond what you can see
Close your eyes and just believe
The lion roars and the lamb lays down
They live together in a whole new town
They’re calling me, and they’re calling you
From the cold hard facts that we’re on our own
To the age old truth that we’re not alone
Don’t be afraid little warrior bride
Your victory’s on the other side
You’re not alone, you’re not alone
“…realize that wisdom is the same for you. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will never fade.” Proverbs 24:14
“Might warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor —“ Psalms 45:3
“A wise warrior is better than a strong on, and a man of knowledge than one of strength.” Proverbs 24:5
