This is my month in Honduras with Team Rocket Power!

Check out my team, Team Rocket Power! We are seven world racers with big hearts ready to love and serve those around us AND each other! We love to laugh and have fun, and also sit down for some serious and legit talks that brings growth to us as a team and family.

This month my team is serving alongside some pretty amazing hosts! We will be doing a combination of things throughout the month…it’ll be things such as construction, visiting nearby villages, and helping with the young children who live here at the ministry. There are two beautiful young girls with cerebral palsy and the cutest little boys and girls. Our hosts are from the United States and have been living in Honduras for 12 years now. They’ve taken in 600+ world racers since 2013. It’s amazing how much of a home this feels like as soon as you walk through the gate. Ministry this month will be so much of loving on the children and staff, our hosts, serving them with our hands and feet (literally), and also being poured into by them! For me, this will be the first month I will have really been poured into by the ones we came to serve alongside. God is showing me so much each and every day what intentionality looks like in community, loving each other, loving myself, and embracing the newness each country and its culture has. This will be team change number two for me, the most drastic team change as far as every single person is new and wasn’t on my last team. Month nine for us in our hearts for this team and for each other is full of exciting new things, awesome memories that will be made, friendships that will grow, and spiritual growth in the gifts God has given us. I am on a coed team for these last three months of the race and I’m crazy excited! I’m excited to live life with men of God who have amazing servant hearts and are super fun!! I’m excited for the four incredible women on my team who I KNOW will bring so much growth out of me and love unconditionally. I’m excited for the new burst of energy physically and spiritually that the Lord has given us during our last debrief in El Salvador. It is understandable that once a racer reaches month nine, they become exhausted and think too much about how close home is. I don’t feel that way often at all, and I’m surrounded by amazing people who will help me to NOT feel that way but live in the moment for each day we have left on the field!

Bonus this month is I know a little more Spanish than I did last month!!! It’s exciting and so great to somewhat be able to chat with the people who don’t speak a lick of English. One thing I really love about Honduras is all the horses that roam freely on the streets, they’re beautiful! All the months in Asia consisted of free roaming cows and the occasional chickens, horses is a step up and make my heart happy. This month is also a good one to be able to go running with my teammates!! We’re staying in a place that is right off a paved road and perfect for safe and easy jogs, even if for just 15 minutes! I’m thankful for a team that either really enjoys working out or is totally into saying yes to working out with me!! It’s very motivating and exciting to end out the world race this way. Physically it makes a huge difference, it’s all about feeling good on the inside and building relationships!

These last three months are going to be amazing! I strongly believe the Lord’s timing for putting me with the team I am with is going to help grow me and we’re going to finish strong and with such joy! I’m so grateful I have this amazing opportunity to live life with gosh darn amazing people the Lord created! I love ‘em tons and I love Jesus even more!!!!!
