Today is 11-11. It not only visually reflects my “11n11” mission that I will embark on beginning in January, but it is also filled with all things related to the World Race.
In numerology, 11 is said to have an important meaning, but two 11s next to each other is a whole different story. Two 11s next to each other is said to trigger a different level in human DNA that makes things more possible. Thus the reason people make a wish at 11:11! Seeing all the 11s today is definitely triggering something different in my DNA. And, although I know it’s not the change in my DNA that is making impossible things possible—that is my amazing God doing that!—I do feel the difference today.
Last week I created my first “$11 on the 11th” event and saw immediate results. I have seen almost $300 donated since then. I am trying not to have expectations about how much money I will raise or who will donate, but I do have faith that God will lead those who are supposed to donate to do so and will tell them exactly how much to donate. I have seen this simple event reach to people I didn’t even think about (extended family, missionaries I have served with in other places, and even friends of my friends) and I am amazing about what God is doing already. I haven’t even begun my mission trip and I’m already seeing it impact other people!
Today I am also speaking at my church about my trip. Since I didn’t find out that I was accepted into the Race until late April/early May and then was so wrapped up in graduation from University in May and then packed and left for Uganda for almost four months, there are still a lot of people at my church that don’t know about my trip, don’t know I’m leaving for a whole year, or just don’t know exactly what I am going to be doing (even though I don’t either! Hah). By speaking at church in a few hours, I hope to be able to gain more support, whether financially, spiritually or physically. I have seen people already come up to me and simply love on me, asking how my preparation is going or how fundraising is and hugging me and asking what they can do. This is not only from people I have known and been supported by over the years, but also by people I hardly knew who have become very interested in my mission trip almost overnight.
Last night I was interviewed by a lady from our local town newspaper about my mission trips. She asked a lot about my time in Uganda and about the upcoming World Race. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t super excited about the reach that the article can have. It will be seen by most of my town, but also by the businesses in the area. I can’t even imagine the heartstrings that God will tug on, causing people to possibly donate to my account, visit my blog, follow my trip, or just stand in the gap in prayer for me and my squad!
Please continue to pray for me as I get closer to my deadline on December 15, that I have a peace about raising the money, how to do it and who to contact. Also, obviously, I am leaving for a year for I’m trying to take advantage of spending time with friends and family before I leave, but also trying to work and save up as much money as possible. It’s kind of hard to find a happy medium between the two!
I’ll leave you with this last piece to think about.
A scientist in numerology noted that two 11s next to each other, when seen in your everyday life can mean things such as:
· a “stargate” — or portal has opened
· “We are go for lift off!”
· “Prepare to ascend”
· “You’re on the right track — keep going!”
· “You’re getting warmer; you’re on to something big…”
· a doorway or window of opportunity opens before you
How many 11’s are we seeing next to each other with the World Race, N Squad?! Something big is going to happen and, even though the 11s have nothing to do with it, it’s still encouraging to me to think of the greatness we will encounter and even the numbers around the trip confirm that God is doing something big opening opportunities everywhere we go…
