While reflecting on how I’ve completed one-third of my time in Uganda, I couldn’t help but realize how quickly the World Race is approaching! My plans right now put me on a plane back to the States October 1st. October 1st also marks my first financial deadline; I need to have $3,500 in my World Race account. Then I’ll board another plane to head to World Race Training Camp October 13-20. Then two and a half months later I’ll begin my journey to 11 different countries for 11 months. Wow! It seems like just the other day that I was being interviewed on the phone and was officially accepted to join the squad and now I’m crunching numbers and thinking about deadlines!
Spending this time in Uganda has been amazing and life-changing on all the different levels: spiritually, emotionally, and even physically! I’ve learned so much from the people here and have been challenged and changed so much. I have been able to meet so many amazing people and it has got me even more excited for the World Race and being able to have amazing experiences with my squadmates! As we interact on Facebook, it amazes me how much we have in common and how well we are connected and how the Spirit is working in our group already.
Like I mentioned, on October 1st I need to have $3,500 in my designated World Race account in order to continue down the road towards my leg of the World Race that will begin January 2013. I have been reassured again and again that I do not have to worry about the money for this trip, so I am not concerned about having the money or where it will come from. However, I still feel like I have people in my life who want to donate. This is my call to you. If you feel led to donate in order to make my calling and passion a reality, please donate directly to my World Race account. This allows the money to be deposited directly, allows me to keep track of exactly how much I have and how much I need, and ensures that your financial contribution is tax-deductible and can be easily tracked or set up for a reoccurring donation.
Right now, I have almost $1,000 donated specifically to my World Race account, not to mention the other funds that have been given directly to me to be used where I feel it’s needed. I know I have a long way to go in order to raise 100% of the funds necessary to complete all 11 months of the World Race, but I also have a massive sense of confidence and peace that the money will be there when it’s needed.
