Yesterday, our team had the day off from working at the farm
(which was a huge blessing!). Allan, Amanda, and Ginger took a bus into Kuala
Lumpur for the day while Alex, Christy, and I headed down to McDonalds. Jake
slept in and met the three of us around lunchtime. We each had a very
productive, encouraging day and we are feeling so refreshed and ready to go back
to work. My day was incredible-I had some great conversations with people,
received encouraging emails, posted a couple blogs, etc. I felt like my day was
full of divine appointments. Usually, off-days are draining as I try to get
caught up on everything. Today was
different.
At the end of our time at McDonalds, we prayed believing that
God would provide a ride for us to get home. Otherwise, it would have been at
least a 6-7 mile walk up the mountain back to our house. Not even 10 minutes
into our walk, a pickup truck pulled over and stopped for us to jump in the
back. We didn’t even have to flag them down. They just stopped. God is so good!
When we got home, we found out that Jake had also prayed for a
ride and an SUV picked him up and brought him home. We had a relaxing evening,
watched a movie and enjoyed being together as we waited for the other three to
get home. Turns out they had some awesome God stories too!! They had been in
the right place at the right time during their ride back and had some
interesting conversations with people along the way. They stopped to pray over
a blind woman before catching the bus to come home, and a random Malaysian guy
who knew English well was able to translate. They said he literally came out of
nowhere! God’s timing is perfect.
I was in charge of team time so when everyone got home, my
plan was to talk about how God showed up and answered prayers and spend some
time praising Him for it. We have been talking a lot lately as a team about
recognizing that more because we pray about a lot of things, and often forget
or don’t recognize when they are answered. We have been praying for MORE as a
team and God is giving it to us. As we sat down together and discussed story
after story of divine appointments, we continued to praise God for what He is doing and how He is working and moving in our
lives!
