The first time I became aware of my passion for missions was four years ago, my freshman year of college. We had a missions emphasis week and I was very intrigued by what I heard and saw. What I didn't know was how much work God needed to do on my heart before I could get more involved. Over the past 7-8 months God has given me a heart for Africa. After hearing about the World Race I immediately wanted to find a route that mainly went around Africa. I prayed about it and I felt drawn to the July 2012 Route 2 (we will be going to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). But suddenly location didn't matter to me as much as the opportunity to get to serve and love! I know the adventure side of the World Race played a big factor in choosing to take this trip. With the season of my life that I am in right now, in between college and a full-time job, I knew this was a good time to find out what God wants me to do with my life. Before I "settle down" I really want to take this leap of faith with God and discover the kind of life that I imagined Jesus lived during His ministry.
