We got to the village on Tuesday and met our host family, Pastor Edison, his wife Hulda and their two little boys Joshua and Jaden. They are an Indian family that has committed their life to Jesus Christ and seeing His glory in their country. I feel so incredibly blessed to get to be with them during this month. On Tuesday when we arrived we immediately went out with the Pastor (who is also our translator) and met three families who attend the local church here that Pastor Edison heads up. We were all very excited to get to finally be submersed into a little bit of what we are going to be doing this month. We talked and prayed with the three different families and it was so good to see God moving in and through my teammates and I that first night.
One of the girls asked us to pray to be able to get into college because she was having a hard time with the process, so we prayed. Pastor Edison told us literally the next day that the girl was accepted into college and told him that it was because we prayed that she was accepted! Praise the Lord for hearing and answering prayers and increasing that girl’s faith!!

On Wednesday the Pastor took us to pay for the house that we moved into Thursday. God has really blessed us with this house that we are in, and this village we are staying in. I am so thankful for a place to rest our heads and grow closer as a team as we try and do life here in this Indian village.

It’s been really awesome seeing the simplicity of the lifestyle they live here. From food to housing, they not only have bare minimum, but they like it that way.
As I was talking to Hulda, the pastor’s wife, she told me that when she was baptized and became a believer she asked the Lord three things. She has been walking with Christ for many years and she listed those three things to me. That was such a testimony to me because I know I’m really quick to just ask ask ask. I think I “need” so much, when in reality God has already given me everything I could ever need by giving me His Holy Spirit.
