I came to India hoping to be God's hand and feet and just love and serve these people like Jesus. In reality, they are the ones that taught me so much. They showed me what a servant's heart truely looks like. Every where we went people welcomed us into their homes, let us sit down while they stood, prepared food for us, gave us cold drinks and just went above and beyond to serve us and make us feel special. While this may seem a little drastic it hit me that I have never treated the people in my life like this. Going out of my way constantly to serve and make sure those around me feel special. Often times I ong to be the one that is made to feel special and then feel let down if I'm not treated that way. These people have completely transformed my perspective on what it looks like to serve those around me and I'm excited to put it into practice while on the race.
It was hard saying goodbye to the beautiful family that we fell in love with! Pastor Edison, Hulda, Joshua, Jaden and their church family will forever be in our hearts!!
