We had an awesome month in Kaula Lipis but since they scheduled the classes before we arrived we had to leave Lipis early and head back to Gua Musang where our contacts live. We were reunited with the other team who has been teaching here in Gua Musang and we helped them for the last few days of ministry here in Malaysia. When we arrived back in Gua Musang, we went to dinner with the other team from our squad and then had a combined team meeting that night. We were able to sit and share stories from our months in Malaysia and hear about things God did throughout the month. We were both mutually encouraged from this meeting and went away very joyful.
Afterwards the Lord opened my eyes to the verses I had been reading earlier this month in Acts when Paul says, “After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.” (Acts 21:19) It was so cool to see the correlation between the way the disciples operated in the book of Acts and the sharing/encouraging time we had that night in Gua Musang.
After thinking about this I realized I want to continue to live my life this way! I want to testify to all the things God did and is doing through my life and those around me. God opened my eyes to see I had been living that way, even before The World Race, most believers do, it just looks a little different.
Every week when I was living in Indiana I would meet with my small group on Wednesday nights and we would share about our weeks, what God was doing through our lives and what He was teaching us. This is living out the book of Acts! Our ministry is our lives! God has placed us in the places He needs us! The people around us don’t need us, they need HIM! So whether or not we our like Paul traveling from place to place, or if we are in a specific place; God is using His followers to touch the lost around them.
My encouragement to you today is to find a fellow believer and share with them all of the things God is doing through you! Share about who God is to you and what He is teaching you. It’s not about boasting in yourself, it’s about boasting in the Lord. Encourage those around you to share as well! God is worthy of ALL praise!! The praise will rise to Him with or without your help because He will be glorified; but He has given us the gift of praise to pour all that He pours out on us back to Him!!
