Saying good bye is the hardest thing to do when you have truly fallen in love and have become part of a family.

It was so hard saying goodbye to my family when I embarked on this journey. I love my family so much and knew that I wouldn’t get to see them for the next 11 months in person. What I didn’t realize is that the World Race is actually full of goodbyes.
At the beginning of the month last month we said goodbye to our squad mates as we parted ways to different areas in India. At the end of last month we had to say goodbye to all of our new Indian friends that had become like family to us. Same thing happened at the beginning of this month as the squad went to their different locations.

Saying goodbye to these women and children at Asha Nepal was definitely an emotional goodbye. They have become family to us. We got to live with these beautiful people and do life with them day in and day out. We got to work through hard times, laugh, cry, eat, walk and grow with these people. As we said goodbye there is one thing that always makes it a little easier, knowing that it isn’t really goodbye, it’s see you later.

It has been such an amazing month at Asha Nepal, I will miss these people but I know that they will forever have a piece of my heart.
