We made it to Africa! We are in Jinja, Uganda for our Month 6 debrief! We are camping next to the Nile River at a beautiful campsite.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to raft the Nile with some of my squad mates! It was probably one of the most terrifying, exciting, amazing things I've ever done. We went through 8 rapids, 1 class 3 the rest class 4 or 5. Class 5 is basically the biggest rapid that you can actually do in a raft and be ok. We tipped twice and a couple of us fell out once. It was such a crazy adventure and even though there were times when I was so scared, I would definitely do it again!

In between the terrifying rapids we were able to occasionally get out of the raft and swim/float along with the current. I was humbled at the thought that not only am I getting to see a Biblical landmark, I'm also getting to swim and emmerse myself in a river so full of Biblical history. I thought about Baby Moses being placed into the river and the whole river being turned into blood during the plagues.

We will be here in Jinja until Saturday, and then our team and one other team is scheduled to travel to Kampala. We will be staying 10 kilometers outside of Kampala where there is a church and a school. We are not sure exactly what ministry will look like, but that's not unusual. I will let you all know as soon as I can!
