Hey friends!

I hope this post finds you well and enjoying your holiday season! As we get closer to Christmas (and the launch of our trip) I’ve been thinking a lot about how blessed and thankful I am for this life and the opportunities God has given me. I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing on very happy times pre-covid and even during; with today being the start of the third week of Advent (Joy) I thought that was very fitting. With so many crazy things happening in the world it’s important to remember all of the happy times God has given us, especially during this holiday season.

If you know me, then you know the Christmas season is my favorite time of the year and I looove traditions. Whether it’s decorating as a family, baking, or going to church on Christmas Eve it fills me with joy to do all of our yearly “Christmas-y” things. So with this year being so disheartening being able to do some of our traditions has brought a warm feeling of peace and togetherness. Just like every year, we give gifts through World Vision and this year I decided to give the gift of chickens! I don’t know why I was so excited about this but I just wanted to tell you guys. When this season comes to a close is when everything really kicks into gear!

After we ring in the New Year, it will only be a short few weeks before we launch for our trip! It’s kinda scary to think of all the things that still need to be done in such a short time! As an avid list-maker, I have laid out or at least thought out a plan for everything that I need to accomplish. But we all know saying something versus actually doing it can be two totally different things. I tend to freak out about things like that when it seems like a lot of work but in reality, it’s just in my head. So after a few stress-induced naps, I realized that the only last big hurdle is packing, which is mostly just having to shop for things I still need. So I realized that basically everything is coming together! So while I’m enjoying this time of celebration I also get to look forward to meeting my team and our crazy adventure!

So through all of this, I have just been in a state of thankfulness and readiness for what God has in store for me in this coming year. I hope you all are having a great Christmas season!
