Hey everyone!!
Wow me and my team have been here for nearly a month! Time has just flown by! And yes that does mean I’m having a great time! It also means sometimes I forget to slow down and make time for things like writing blogs, posting on Instagram, or even just having time to be still and sit with the Lord. So with this post I wanted to share some little things the Lord has blessed me with over these 3 weeks!
Starting with the time we’ve been able to spend at a local park! It’s called INVU; we’ve done a lot of yard work, painting and cleaning up! While that makes such a big difference in the looks and usage of the park my favorite part of our time has been talking to and playing with a group of kids that live in the neighborhood. Even with my broken Spanish being able to communicate and joke around with them brings me joy. My favorite part is playing soccer with them!!

Something else that God has given me is the phrase “Dios es Bueno” which translates to God is good. But the really awesome thing is the first day we went to INVU there was a mural with that written on it! I just kept seeing that phrase everywhere we went that day! It’s so awesome how God gives us little reminders of his goodness.

Another thing that just brings me immense joy is the worship nights we have at the house. We are currently sharing a house with another World Race squad! Every so often we all get together for a night of worship and with there being 50 of us it’s so so so powerful!! It always fills me up.

Something specific recently that struck me was a morning devo time. A guy from the local church we go to called Horizon, comes and leads us in morning devotions but on Tuesday (02/09) he really felt the Lord saying we should all just be praying for each other. So out of the 50 of us there were 4 or 5 groups of 4 people praying for others. Everyone went up separately to get prayed for. When I felt it was my time to be prayed for I originally wanted to go to the group of people who I knew better but God had other plans. Someone else got to that group before I did so I went to the next one that was available. I also knew everyone in this group just not as well. And all I got to say is WOW. It almost makes me want to cry thinking about how the Holy Spirit was just absolutely talking to me directly through my friends. I resonated with everything they said. There was no other explanation then it was the Holy Spirit!
I recently was sitting on the balcony of the house we’re staying at and along the wall was this long line of ants just carrying really big pieces of leaves. And I was just kind of astounded. I sat there and just started thinking how amazing it was that these ants unknowingly are bringing glory to God. Even with just carrying leaves they were created to bring glory to God. In my mind I was just like wow do these ants know what they’re doing?? I’ve never thought of it like that.
The last little thing I want to share happened on our most recent Sabbath day. For Sabbath our leaders and ministry host highly stress the importance of sitting with the Lord and filling your cup up however you enjoy doing that. Usually me and my squad mate Chelsea will start our day at the beach. So on Monday me and Chelsea were at the beach and we took turns going out in the water so we could have some time alone, which is sparing in a house with 50 people, and while I was in the water no one else was around it was just me, the waves and God. It was a sense of peace I haven’t had in such a long time. It was just me singing and praying out loud to the Lord. One of my prayers was just asking the Lord for a word for me, for my team or for anyone really I don’t know why. I got back to the beach and just started listening to We The Kingdom. The first song that came on was called Take Me On A Ride. And I just felt that the Lord was giving me that song as an answer to my prayer. Do I fully understand why? Nope. But currently it really represents the joy the Lord has just continually given me on this trip already; it’s extremely freeing and I think the song represents that.
What’s a little thing you’re grateful for?
Pray with me:
Dear God thank you for this day. Thank you for giving us little everyday reminders of how much you love us. I pray that we are able to really take time and be grateful for them and appreciate all the things you do for us.
Amen
