I’m alive here in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

We arrived a few days ago after traveling lots of hours on a bus to the border of Zimbabwe where we spent 5 hours at the South Africa side to get our stamps, just our stamps to leave South Africa, and then another 5 hours to get into Zimbabwe, where we got our fancy stamps, got our visas and then waited for our bus to go through the line and then got all of our bags checked and then got to enter Zimbabwe! Yay!

4 hours later we arrive and are picked up by our host Abraham and his wife Anna. We are staying at their home this month with them, their 2 children and their nanny. The wonderful Anna will be cooking for us this month, and then we will be going with Abraham every day to work alongside him in the ministry he is involved in called Scripture Union doing kids clubs.

It’s summer here in Zimbabwe, so it’s hot. And every now and again, usually at the perfect moments when you really need it, we get to experience Breezus

Breezus

Noun: the holy spirit alive in the breeze

Two summers ago I volunteered a month at a young life camp working in the kitchen as a baker with 2 guys and my intern. It was in July around a bunch of ovens, wearing pants to follow the dress code so it got rather hot.

We were lucky to have the only window in the kitchen right by our little nook.

So we got the breeze.

We got to experience Breezus.

On hard days. When it was hard to love. When it was hot. When it had just been a long day of baking for hundreds of kids. Breezus.

Breezus always knows when to show up.

And for the last 2 and a half years I have been experiencing those moments.

Moments where Jesus showed up in what seemed like such little moments.

And today I get to say, “That is Breezus!”

That is my God, showing up, loving me, loving us. Giving us a little break.

Because He really does show up in so many ways. In people, in nature, in the little things, in the breeze.

Our God cares about us. And I love that!

I am so thankful to have a God who gives me a breeze when I don’t even know I need it, and that I get to tell people this story, of Breezus.

Thanks Breezus.

It may seem silly, but God loves my silliness. He loves that I find Him in everyday things like the breeze.

We all experience God in different ways, I experience God through Breezus.

How do you experience God?

Whether it’s simple or intricate, share it with others so they can see God in those ways too. What a better way to share the gospel and love of our Lord then to share the way we see and feel Him in our day to day lives.
