So it’s day two of the Race. Day TWO and I’ve already had my mind blown. This post is coming to you from my slightly damp tent. Guess what? It’s gonna be raining the whole time we’re here! But, it’s all good. I’m here for it!!
I want to share something with you guys that already has me super excited. In the past, some of you may have heard me say that I try not to get my hopes up too much. I tend to overhype things and always end up being disappointed.
Well, one of the first talks we had at launch was about expectations. Deon, one of my squad’s coaches, told us to place a hand on top of our heads then hold it out in front of us in the shape of our skulls. He said, if God is only that big, then we have BIG problems. And I realized: I had subconciously been applying that ‘don’t overhype’ mentality to the creator of the universe!
Y’all, we CANT overhype God. It’s literally impossible. He will take our wildest dreams and then do exceedingly more! Not only is he able, but be wants to do far above and beyond what our finite minds can concoct.
That means we can pray those big, maybe even scary prayers and know that God isn’t just listening, He is working.
So, I’m going on this Race in expectation. God WILL work! I hope you’ll join with me in praying those big, scary, faith-stretching prayers over myself and my squad these next 11 months. Pray that God would do refreshingly new and mind-blowingly wonderful works in and through us.
And, y’all, I dare you to pray the prayers you’ve been scared to even imagine God could answer for YOU. He is more than attentive enough, more than powerful enough, more than big enough, and more than loving enough to give you not only the desires of your heart but the desires you dont even know about yet. Cause, we’re his people, y’all. His kingdom workers!!
