We have experienced much in two weeks, but perhaps one of the greatest challenges we have beheld is not the obvious sort of poverty.

We have held empty hands and hungry bellies, seen diseases which are prevented fully in the United States and witnessed foul living situations. However, the need that surpasses all is for Jesus Christ and His intimate touch. His presence has lead us and been with our journey to Haiti and amid her villages. He has no shortage of hands to use from the U.S.- there are at least 1,400 ministries at His disposal, including Mission of Hope!

Mission of Hope (MOH) is working towards it’s end by pouring her energies towards empowering Haitians in Jesus name to complete their mission. They are doing this by way of educating the people.

The country is so effected by the lack of education, I will show you a comparison of the states to help paint a picture.

Stateside- clean roads, disease prevention, clean food, clean water, effective plumbing, clean living situations, and the like.

Haiti- dirty roads, preventable diseases affecting the population, clean food and water are difficult to find and sustain, no effective plumbing (in general) and many unhealthy living circumstances. People are still living in homes meant to be sustained for 6 months from the earthquake 4 years ago, this is a problem.

However, MOH is not going in and throwing a different kind of problem around by fixing everything. They have instead employed native ‘village champions’ to teach their neighbors about healthy living and are acting as ‘village mayors’ to get projects going. They cannot do this without education. It is imperative to the countries well being for its inhabitants to be educated.

So, there is an opportunity for you to sponsor a child (some in college!!) to help educate Haiti. The fruit will not be seen obviously until these children are grown and running their country, but we must begin somewhere.

I also would like to encourage you that MOH is not primarily humanitarian, they are primarily evangelistic. Their curriculum, MWEN KAPOB (I CAN!) is Christ centered and they have church plants all over the country, and are currently training pastors in the Word and fruit is already blowing them away in terms of gospel movement. Jesus is not far from anyone’s ear, here.

I would also like to say that Haiti is a beautiful country, and everyone knows it. There is much to be done, but God’s hand is here in the beauty and the ugly, ready to transform the country to His purpose. They are hoping to create a tourism attraction again, so look into it!

I am so glad to be here working with this Christ centered and loving ministry, and want to thank you for your support. I am FULLY FUNDED! Praise God.

Thank you for reading, and if you would like to learn more about furthering education in Haiti, go to www.MOH.org.

I send my love,

Cassandra
