Subject: Notepad – On coming Home
Today is the day. We catch our flight, travel through time and end up in America at 9:30 tonight even though the hours we travel are significantly more than the hours in today. This will, in every way, be the longest day of my year.
I’m coming home!
The way I feel about that is pretty simple. I cant wait.
This year was incredibly challenging. The Father has been shaping me and giving me a more rock-solid foundation in His love, His way. And because of all His efforts combined with my hands thrown up in the air (out of frustration, resignation and desperation), he grew me. I’m loving the renewed skin I’m in!
So now the goal is to be steadfast in my home community. Just like everyone on the planet. Its so exciting to choose (and strive to maintain) joy, peace, love, grace, self-control, etc. I enjoy life more now, and that’s pretty darn good incentive to keep pressing in. And I don’t enjoy it more because of adventure. This is internal enjoyment, renewal- not hindered by outward circumstances.
On another note, I’m going to deeply miss having these people, the only people in the world who know what this journey was like, who’ve all been monsters and angels, and who became 37 extended family members. Ill need a little space to mourn this ended season- but just a little, because capital L Life happens, and you never know what’s around the corner, who might visit or call. Also, I’m a fan of today, and as of tomorrow, my family and friends will be my today.
I feel like I’m in a great spot to continue living, which is most likely going to happen.
…so ready or not…
Here I come!
