I must admit, I had my doubts about postponing my yard sale until the middle of November when the temperatures hovered around freezing and every breath produced a small cloud of mist in front of rosy red cheeks and nearly-frostbitten noses. But how could I forget that the God I love and serve is in NO way limited by temperature or season.
He provided some amazing friends and family (Mom & Dad, Mary, Gaby, & Erin – you all are AMAZING!!) to brave the cold and help me out, without whom this yard sale would not have been half as successful. Also, never doubt the power of an awesome location (thank you, Back Creek Presbyterian Church!), a few well-placed signs, and the population of professional yard-sale-shoppers here in Charlotte. They’re like extreme couponers…but even more intense.
Seriously, y’all – we had heated bidding war break out over a MICROWAVE! It was awesome.
And when all was said and done, I made another $350 for my World Race fund!!
Thank you so much to everyone who donated items and made this possible!!!
With the all of your support over the past few weeks, I am now FORTY percent of the way to my total fundraising goal of $16,250!! I am hoping to be at 50% by the end of this month, and I only need about $1,500 to reach that goal! And if you’re looking to get a head start on finding the perfect Christmas gifts for those hard-to-shop-for friends and family, I’ve got some great news…
My wonderful and amazingly talented teammate Eva is using her talents to help our entire squad be FULLY FUNDED by the time we launch in January! She is handmaking custom 8×10 calligraphy prints like the ones pictured below and is selling them for $20 each. To order, make a $20 donation to my World Race account and email [email protected] with your name, shipping address, and the exact quote that you’d like to appear on your order. Please mention my name somewhere in your email so that she will know who the donation is going to. She is only accepting orders through December 1st, so get yours TODAY!
And don’t forget about Keys to the Kingdom necklaces for the wanderers on your Christmas list – they come packaged by yours truly and include a hand-stamped note explaining that each necklace is helping to send me on the World Race!
With love and wanderlust,
Cassady
