As you all know, my third month on the Race was spent back in Bolivia – the country that I fell in love with several years ago and will undoubtedly love for the rest of my life. I’ve mentioned that my all-girls team spent most of our time in the small town of Rurrenabaque painting, sanding concrete, painting some more, sanding fence posts, and…you guessed it, painting! By the way, ‘painting’ takes on a whole new meaning in Bolivia when the typical recipe for water-resistant or outdoor paint is: white indoor paint + gazillions of drops of colored dye + gasoline. Yep, you read that right. By the end of the month, it became completely normal to hear someone shouting across the compound, “Hey, can you add some gasoline to this paint?” Oh, Bolivia.
In the face of unusual painting techniques and limited brush supplies, the ladies of Team Duken gave it our all every day and I could not be more proud of what we accomplished in just a few short weeks. Here are some before and after pictures thanks to the amazingly talented Eva Cranford! (Have I mentioned that my teammate is a FANTASTIC photographer?? Her main job in ‘real life’ is wedding photography and she does incredible work! Check out her website at http://evacranford.com/ or her Smugmug site where you can order prints of her World Race pictures!) Check out my own personal version of Extreme Ministry Makeover: Bolivia Edition!

All of the incredible opportunities that I have to serve ministries like Casa de los Niños would not be possible without your continued support, and I am SO grateful! Another post to come soon about our first couple of days in INDIA!
With love and wanderlust,
Cassady
