I hope you all enjoyed reading about the vehicular misfortunes of my roommates and I in my last post!  Things are still a bit crazy around here, but I’ll give you all a more detailed update once it all gets worked out. 🙂  Meanwhile, I’m still in full World-Race-prep mode and I’d like to update you all on the status of my fundraising.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I need to meet the first fundraising deadline of $3,500 in order to be able to go to training camp.  I have to attend this training camp in order in order to leave for the World Race in September as planned.  I have been graciously given an extension to the original deadline, so here’s the deal:

If I don’t have $3,500 in my World Race account by MONDAY (July 7th), the month of September will come and go and I’ll still be in America.
If I don’t get the rest of this money in, I won’t be leaving in
September.

I currently have $954 raised, so I need $2,546 by Monday.  That’s the current reality, and it’s a scary one.

In times like this, I’m grateful for the confidence that the God I know and love is abundantly faithful and able to fulfill His promises to provide everything that I need in order to fulfill His will for my life.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:  I am convinced that God does not call where He won’t provide.

So, if you are at all able to give – any amount – to support my World Race trip, and can do so before Monday, then please please please do.  You can learn more about how to donate (online is the best method with the time crunch!) by clicking here and reading the blog post where I listed out all of the ways that I can be supported financially.
If not, or if you have already given, then I ask for your prayers as I continue to fundraise and pray for wisdom in discerning the Lord’s will for my life, especially in this upcoming year.  And, of course, please feel free to share this blog with any and all of your friends!

Martin Luther said it best, “Pray like it all depends on God (because it does!), then when you are done, go work like it all depends on you.”

“The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”
~1 Thessalonians 5:24

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
~Hebrews 10:23

“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this city or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’  Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.  What is your life?  You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, ‘If this is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.'”
~James 4:13-15

“This then is how we know that we belong to the Truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us.  For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.  And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.”
~1 John 3:19-23

“‘I’m so far out on a limb with God now, if I even think of walking by sight instead of faith, I’m dead.’ That goes for all of us who have truly chosen to follow Jesus Christ. Size of ministry makes no difference. How much of your life you’ve invested in Jesus is the issue. Have we held some back for ourselves – just in case He’s not as real, as powerful, as active as we thought?…Or have we banked everything we have and everything we are on the reality that Jesus Christ is Lord of all the earth? We will never fulfill our destinies until our hope is built on nothing less.”
