No matter how long I sit here in front of my computer screen, I just can’t find words to describe what I’ve witnessed and experienced over the past 72 hours. Not yet. But there are two things I want to tell each and every person who is following mine and my squad’s World Race journey –
1) The most important thing you need to know is that we are praising God. We are full of faith, full of gratitude, and full of trust in the One who is never, ever shaken by anything that this world brings. We are confident in His plan for our lives and for the people of this beautiful country. We are not afraid.
2) Also, we are safe. Your prayers for our protection are being HEARD; they are POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE. We are safe, and we are His.
Thank you for your prayers! A more detailed update will come soon, when the Lord gives me the right words.
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With Him at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will You let Your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
You will fill me with joy in Your presence,
with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”
(Psalm 16:8-11)
PS- within 24 hours of going from being ‘just missionaries’ to fellow survivors of a natural disaster that has devastated an entire nation, members of P squad went out into the villages on the mountain where we were tenting and shared the gospel with AT LEAST one young mom, one Hindu family of 12 that had never even heard of Jesus, and an entire group of Nepali children. I couldn’t imagine a more incredible group of brothers and sisters to be walking this journey with.
With love and wanderlust,
Cassady
